Support for student Parthiban
We came to know through Pragati foundation that one of their scholars is ailing from heart disease and was diagnosed for immediate operation. Parthiban is a very good student with good academic records. His parents are laborers and who where not able to raise Rs 1.5 lakhs for the operation.
The student was admitted in Jain hospital for the urgent operation. The hospital authorities and Pragati foundation pitched in for the fund raising. The hospital authorities were able to raise funds up to 50%, through Heart Care Foundation.
Since I am a mentor with Pragati Foundation, I got the information about all this and passed it to CDF.
We consulted few CDF members and finance person for the help. After the consultation we paid Rs 5,000 immediately on the same day and promised them any future support too.
Since Jain hospital was very near to our workplace couple of us met the student a day before the operation and paid the deposit amount for the operation on behalf of Pragati Foundation.
The next day the operation started at 7.30 AM in the morning ended nearly 4 – 5hrs after that. I don’t know how that 16 yrs old student’s body was able to bear this 5 hrs operation.
In between they were in need of 3 units of blood. We went to MS Ramiah blood bank, donated our blood and got the parthiban’s group blood as replacement.
All these efforts paid off, the operation was successful and we met him on the next day evening.
He gave a smile on us… it was a smile from someone who has touched the heaven’s gate and came back.
His mother wanted to convey her deep hearted thanks to all the noble hearts that helped them…
